Why is TikTok Getting Banned in the U.S.?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The short-form video-hosting app TikTok has been under a nationwide ban in the U.S. since January 19, 2025. The reason behind this is that the government is concerned over potential user data collection of U.S. citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this, on 18 January 2025, the day before the deadline of the law, TikTok suspended its services in the United States. But, by 20th January, Trump signed an order that granted TikTok a 75-day extension before it is completely banned in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
